Imagine you are living abroad what are the most difficult things for you?/ What do you miss about Korea?

If I will be living abroad, it will be so hard because the background is different so it is not easy for me to adapt to the new background and one of the most important things is language.
Language is also different from Korea so it is important.
Above this, there are other things, for example, life style, food style and concept of health. I think most difficult of all is food style because, I heard from a friend about living abroad. When he lived abroad, sometimes he called me, he said “Korean’s taste and foreigner’s taste are different so I never eat please help me.”
I can live without money and not knowing the language but I can’t live without food to taste so I understood my friend’s opinion.
If I will live abroad, I will miss Korean food, friend, family and many other Korean cultures.
But, if I will have an opportunity to go abroad, I would want to live abroad because it will be a good experience for me.

Dating in Korea

When I watch some movies, I feel that dating in South Korea is quite similar to American relationships but with some differences.
First, if you meet a boy or a girl friend, they are eating some food and watching movies in the cinema and go to amusement park. I think it is similar to American.
But in Korea, there is a problem.
When I was a middle school student, I heard about dating expenses. For example, in America.
They always pay their bills separately but, if I suggest to pay separately to woman, she will feel bad in Korea.
I think some Korean women’s mentality is strange.
They think that the date pay should always be for man and they want to feel like a Queen.
I think it is traditional and cultural difference because only before 50 years ago power was consist for man so, Korean men were patriarchal. But times have changed and improved women’s status.
As a result, Korea receive western culture and also dating culture are similar.

Would gay marriage ever be legal in Korea?

In Korea, gay marriage is illegal because Korea is a society based on Confucianism since a long time ago so, gay marriage is illegal.
In fact, I think homosexuality is not bad because they are also persons so, they have the right to love and we shouldn’t invade their right. But, gay marriage is a different aspect because if the Korean government legalize a gay marriage, this will make many problems. For example, potential hiding gay will come out from shady spot thus, some couple will increase divorce rate and the society will be in confusion.
Also, marriage is a promise that two people will live together for life and society will provide convenience from them but, if they legalize the gay marriage, some bad gay couple will abuse it.
For this reason, I oppose the legalization of gay marriage.

Krean and the internet.

Koreans and the internet truly have an inseparable relationship.
Because for a long time, many people have been using the internet.
What is internet like for the South Koreans?
The Korean internet has grown rapidly for a short time and likewise, Korea has grown marvelously too. Subsequently, Korea has one of the highest internet usage in the world.
Many Korean people always use the internet, because of the development of smart phones.
So, many students use the internet during the break time and the internet is another means of communication in Korea.
For example, if we want to meet our professor, we should send an E-mail. By this example we could also show the use of internet.

What are some differences between western body language and Korean body language?

This picture shows one of the differences in body language between Western and Korean.
If anyone works busily, I might tap him on the shoulder and say “cheer up!”. This means “cheer up!” in Korea but this has a hidden meaning, which is “I will control you.” in America.
One example, some Korean companies have U.S office some time, Korean executives of a company tap their employee (woman) on the shoulder and he says “Good job!” but she will say “I will accuse you of sexual molestation!” so the business man called the Korean office.

What advice would you give to a foreigner coming to Korea for the first time?

Let me introduce Korea.
First, table manners.
When foreigners come to Korea, they must know about many manners.
It is very important. Table manners are important in Korea because
Korea is the country of courteous people in the East, thus we need good
manners. When you eat something face each other while eating with seniors,
never make sounds while eating and don't do anything else like reading.
Second, Korea's culture.
Foreigners must understand the Korean culture.

The Kimchi is a Korean traditional food and a crucial food in Korea.
It is too spicy but very good for the health of so many people. These
days, more and more foreigners like to eat Kimchi.

Korean traditional dress (Hanbok) is known to be very unique and
elegant. The design and color is slightly different as time passed. It
is never tight but very loose. It doesn't have button. If you watch
any historical drama in TV, you can see a variety and beautiful
designs by jobs, social levels, sex and age.
It is not easy to verbally explain unless you actually see in once. It
definitely represents one of the great beauties of the orient.
